OnLive is launching the world’s highest performance Games On Demand service, instantly delivering the latest high-end titles over home broadband Internet to the TV and entry-level PCs and Macs.

Founded by noted technology entrepreneur Steve Perlman (WebTV, QuickTime) and incubated within the Rearden media and technology incubator, OnLive spent seven years in stealth development before officially unveiling in March 2009.

So what is OnLive?

Onlive is a new Game console/server company.

I say console/server, because although they are going to have a console, if ya got a computer, you can just get the software, and your in the same server as the console players!

There will be no disks to buy nor will there be games to download, it's all taken care of in the server.

They expect the console to sell for about the same price as the Wii, and the games should be much cheaper than buying from the store, as they have cut out the store profit, the other game makers (Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft) profit, and distribution costs.

So this new set up potencially has the capability of bringing the console market and the PC market together under a common server, with (they claim) very little glitches or lag issues.

I'm gonna get the software for one of the computers to see if it's all they said it is, if so, the wii will see limited play time as this system may allow the entire family to play at once!... Clan TM/BD.
